Poland's Coach Leo Beenhakker Refuse To Resign

Leo_BeenhakkerLeo Beenhakker, Poland's coach refused to resign after Poland's dismal performance in Euro 2008. Poland is out of Euro 2008 after they were beaten by Croatia 1-0.

Beenhakker's contract with Poland has been extended to take him through to the end of 2010 World Cup qualifying but his side's poor performance in their first European Championship has led to speculation that he may resign.

"I signed the contract in November, which allows me to coach Poland in the next two years," said the 65-year-old, Leo Beenhakker, asked to comment on his future.

Maciej_ZurawskiPolish captain Maciej Zurawski is sure to miss the next two league games of Poland and worst is if the Poles qualify for the 2nd round, he could miss the whole Euro 2008. He got a thigh injury in Sunday's 0-2 defeat against the Germans.

Poland's tem doctor Jerzy Grzywocz said that Zurawski has strained quads and some bleeding so he may be unavailable for the rest of the tournament.

The 31 yearl old Zurawski is the third Pole to be sidelined due to injury after Jakub Blaszczykowski and reserve goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak. Mariusz Lewandowski also picked up an ankle knock against the Germans, but the team doctor siad that Mariusz will be ready for the next games in Euro 2008.

Euro 2008: Henrik Larsson in Swedish Squad But Sweden Loses
