HOLLYWOOD SPY'S GUIDE THROUGH SEPTEMBER 2011 FILMS! MACHINE GUN PREACHER, ABDUCTION, DOLPHIN'S TALE, WHAT'S YOUR NUMBER, CONTAGION, STRAW DOGS, COLOMBIANA ...

I'm sure you've noticed that the summer is almost over and September is here with new school and work season. So, what shall we watch in the rare moments of relaxation between two working weeks? Check it
out in HOLLYWOOD SPY'S GUIDE THROUGH SEPTEMBER 2011 FILMS! Hope you'll find something to suit your taste.
MACHINE GUN PREACHER
This is probably the most awaited film this September, Gerard Butler's attempt to possibly get an Oscar, which tells the true story of an ex-biker and gang member who makes the life-changing decision to go to East Africa to help repair homes destroyed by civil war and gets outraged by the unspeakable horrors faced by the region’s vulnerable populace, especially the children. Ignoring the warnings of more experienced aide workers, he breaks ground for an orphanage where it’s most needed—in the middle of territory controlled by the brutal Lord’s Resistance Army, a renegade militia that forces youngsters to become soldiers before they even reach their teens. Determined to save as many as possible, he also leads armed missions deep into enemy territory to retrieve kidnapped children, restoring peace to their lives and eventually his own.

TAYLOR LAUTNER'S AB(S)DUCTION
Coming out September 23rd, is a sf film ABDUCTION, which is kinda a vehicle for young star Taylor Lautner who wants to
become an action star (and he has chiseled abs to prove his ready for it).  With the cast which also includes another teen star Lily Collins (SNOW WHITE) and some older actors Jason Isaacs, Sigourney Weaver, always weak Maria Bello and Alfred Molina, this thriller centers on a young man who sets out to uncover the truth about his life after finding his baby photo on a missing persons website. Feeling disconnected from his parents he will try to figure out the truth in a quest which will unleash a chain of violent events. Click for the trailer.

WANT CHRIS EVANS' NUMBER?
Since September will be mostly filled with dark action films and grim horrors, I'm sure you might need a relaxation in the form
of a charming new romantic comedy? And WHAT'S YOUR NUMBER, which hits cinemas on September 30th has a rather adorable and cute cast lead by mega gorgeous people Anna Faris, Chris Evans, Chris Pratt, Mike Vogel, David Annable and Zachary Quinto. The story centers on a woman who treks through her sexual past to find Mr. Right, exploring the idea of sexual quotas and whether such numbers matter. She basically looks back at the past twenty men she's had relationships with in her life and wonders if one of them might be her one true love. Click for the trailer.

INSPIRING DOLPHIN TALE
Probably the most positive film to premiere this September (on the 16th) is a heartwarming drama DOLPHIN TALE which,
inspired by a true story, follows the friendship between a boy and a dolphin whose tail was lost in a crab trap. It will take the expertise of a dedicated marine biologist, the ingenuity of a brilliant prosthetics doctor, and the unwavering devotion of a young boy to bring about a groundbreaking miracle—a miracle that might not only save the dolphin but could also help scores of people around the world. The brilliant cast includes Ashley Judd, Harry Connick Jr, Morgan Freeman and young Nathan Gamble. The story of this dolphin is still a huge inspiration to both able and disabled who have been touched by her remarkable recovery and rehabilitation. Click for the trailer.

DON'T TOUCH ANYONE!
Premiering September 9th is Steven Soderbergh's extremely expensive viral thriller CONTAGION which follows the rapid progress of a lethal airborne virus that kills within days. As the fast-moving epidemic grows, the worldwide medical community races to find a cure and control the panic that spreads faster than the virus itself. At the same time, ordinary people struggle to survive in a society coming apart. Stellar cast includes Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow and Marion Cotillard. Click for the trailer.

EVERYONE HAS A BREAKING POINT
One of the films you liked a lot back when I played you the rather
scary and exciting trailer is the remake of famous STRAW DOGS which follows the idea that everybody has a breaking point. James Marsden plays an L.A. screenwriter who relocates with his wife (Kate Bosworth) to her hometown in the deep South. There, while tensions build between them, a brewing conflict with locals becomes a threat to them both. The cast also includes amazing Alexander Skarsgard, Dominic Purcell, Anson Mount and James Woods.

VENGEANCE IS DIRTY
Action fans will surely be satisfied with a female action hero in COLOMBIANA, a thrilling action packed  movie in which STAR TREK's and AVATAR's Zoe Saldana, joined by two charming gents Michael Vartan and Callum Blue, plays a girl named Cataleya who, after witnessing her parents being murdered by the mob as a 10-year-old kid, sets off on a 15-year journey for revenge that takes
her across the world. Click for the trailer. And if that isn't enough of girl power for you, the same month will also bring us CITIZEN JANE in which Michelle Rodriguez plays Charlotte Foster Jane, a lethal assassin hell bent on avenging the murder of her parents in the guns blazing, action packed retelling of Orson Welles 1941 classic CITIZEN KANE. Click for the trailer.

MAY THE BEST MAN LIVE
But if you still prefer boys doing all the action you will probably
prefer KILLER ELITE which premieres on September 23rd. This dynamic action movie revolves around a retired member of Britain's Elite Special Air Service (Jason Statham) who is forced into action after his mentor (Robert De Niro) is taken captive. His mission is to kill three assassins dispatched by their cunning leader (Clive Owen). This irresistibly manly cast also includes Dominic Purcell. Click for the trailer.

SEPTEMBER TIDBITS
September should also bring some other films to cinemas which I've already mentioned before, or which still don't have trailers and
posters: I DON'T KNOW HOW SHE DOES IT with Sarah Jessica Parker, Greg Kinnear and Pierce Brosnan (trailer), MACHINE GUN PREACHER with Gerard Butler, RESTLESS with young Henry Hopper and Mia Wasikowska (trailer), WARRIOR with Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton (trailer), APOLLO 18 bringing the actual and shocking footage which the astronauts captured on the famous space mission. While NASA denies its authenticity, others say it’s the real reason we’ve never gone back to the moon.
