A remorseful Allan Langer has apologised for his unacceptable behaviour which he regrets let down so many people.
The former champion Brisbane Broncos halfback returned an alleged blood alcohol reading of more than three times the legal limit when stopped for a random breath test at 1.40am on Monday in the northern Brisbane suburb of Everton Park.
Mobile phone video footage supplied to TV stations also shows Langer dancing on top of a table wearing only his underwear in a popular Brisbane hotel hours before being stopped by police.
Brisbane suspended him from his position as Broncos skills coach on Monday morning and will review his coaching situation after he appears in Brisbane's Magistrates Court on April 19.
"I accept my actions were unacceptable - people do and are entitled to expect more from me," said Langer in a
statement released on his behalf late on Tuesday.

Adolf Hitler Wanted to “Nazify” Cricket
Adolf Hitler, the German dictator, had once played cricket and had wanted to "Nazify" the game by rewriting its rules, according to a new book. The book says that after the game, the Fuhrer had “advocated the withdrawal of the use of pads” because the "artificial bolsters" were "unmanly and un-German". The Fuhrer, had an ulterior motive for wanting to learn the game. “He desired to study it as a possible medium for the training of troops off duty and in times of peace. He also wanted the game to be Nazified,” The Times said quoting the 1930 article.
The Mirror piece that appeared under the headline “Adolf Hitler As I Know Him” on September 30, 1930, was written by Oliver Locker-Lampson, an MP and fervent admirer of Hitler.
It revealed that the dictator was taught the rules of the game by British troops to play a friendly match against some POWs of the First World War. He informs how in 1923, shortly after the Munich putsch, Hitler had asked some British POWs to teach the game and how, they (prisoners of war) have written the rules for him in the best British sport-loving spirit“.
The Oliver Locker-Lampson’s article, however, fails to inform who won the match.

14-Year Old Yolane Kukla Books Spot in Delhi Commonwealth Games
Yolane Kukla became the youngest female to make a senior Australian swim team in a generation after trouncing reigning world champion Marieke Guehrer in the 50m butterfly at the Commonwealth Games trials. The Queensland pocket rocket blitzed the field in the non-Olympic event on Wednesday night to win in a time of 25.92 seconds ahead of Guehrer (26.28) at Sydney Olympic Park. Kukla is the youngest female swimmer to make a major Australian team since a 13-year-old Jodie Clatworthy earned a spot at the 1986 Edinburgh Commonwealth Games. After producing the upset, the baby-faced Queenslander nicknamed "Yo Yo" bobbed up and down the water with excitement.
Kukla, who trains alongside Stephanie Rice in Brisbane, only left gymnastics after blowing out her knee.

AFC Cup 2010: East Bengal to Miss Baichung Bhutia Against Al Nejmeh
East Bengal will be without the services of influential India national team captain Baichung Bhutia for Wednesday’s AFC Cup meeting with Lebanon League champions Al Nejmeh at Beirut Sports City Stadium. East Bengal arrived in Beirut on Monday without hamstring injury victim Bhutia, who is set to be sidelined for three weeks. But despite the absence of the former Bury striker, Belgian coach Philippe De Ridder is confident East Bengal can bounce back from last month’s 4-1 home defeat by Syria’s Al Ittihad after drawing 1-1 with I-League leaders Mahindra United at the weekend.
"We were unfortunate to lose the first match at home, but we want to make up for that defeat. We failed to score from the chances we had and this is a big problem for us,” said De Ridder.
"We will miss Baichung, but we have players who can cover him. All the players are good and the replacement should play well to take advantage of the chance to play.
"We want to have a good show in order to get a positive result. We will go into the game against Al Nejmeh to play well and the good result will come based on the performance."
Since their 1-1 draw with Kuwait’s Al Qadisa, Al Nejmeh have appointed former coach Abdulaziz Abdulshafi following the resignation of Lebanon national team coach Emile Rustom.

NRL Returns In Style
Rugby League returned in a big way with the start of the 2010 season. St George tried to atone for their disappointing finals exit with a defeat of the Eels. They had too much firepower for Parramatta and won 18-12. It was a bad loss for the Eels who were hoping to build on last season where they made it as far as the Grand Final.
In the Queensland derby, the Broncos edged past the Cowboys. It was a tight and torrid affair but in the end, the Broncos had too much class for their counterparts.
There were some surprises on the Saturday. The most notable of which was that the Knights were able to rebound from all of their off-season troubles to defeat the Bulldogs. The Knights have had some difficulty with drug related issues and will be over the moon after their gutsy victory. On the other side of the coin, the Bulldogs will be less than thrilled with the way they opened the season.
Penrith ran over the top of Canberra. These two teams haven’t been up there for a while and it’s hard to see that changing after the opening round. The Panthers were ok but the Raiders have plenty to work on.
Melbourne opened up the defence of their premiership with a gritty victory away to Cronulla. The game was never going to be easy, especially when the Sharks were keen to atone for their appalling 2009. In the end, it was the experience of the Storm which got them over the line. Bookmakers had the Storm as favourites but in the end they had to work for it.
The Titans had a tight win over the Warriors in an exciting match. Both of these sides like to entertain and this game was no different. The ball was thrown around a lot which made for some exciting football as well as some errors.
Both sides had much to prove in the local derby between the Roosters and the Rabbitohs. The press had been talking up the Bunnies and they were heavily favoured against a Roosters side which won the wooden spoon last year. You would have thought the two swapped uniforms giving the lesson the Rabbits were handed. The Chooks ran over the top of them for a 36-10 victory.
The round finished in a flourish with the Tigers staging a fantastic comeback against Manly. They looked gone for all money but scored four tries in the final twenty minutes to stage a famous fightback.
